Payments by accommodation portal cards
The Comgate payment gateway is designed for payments with accommodation portal cards. This feature is used by accommodation providers who showcase their offerings on one of the online booking platforms, such as Booking, Expedia, Agoda, or accommodation portals that issue cards through the Mastercard B2B Travel program.
What are accommodation portal cards?
Accommodation portal cards are virtual cards issued by accommodation portals to their clients - accommodation providers. These cards are loaded with funds for bookings made by customers through the accommodation portal.
It is a type of payment card that exists only in digital form and cannot be presented physically for payment. It usually contains the same information as a regular card, such as the card number, expiry date and security code (CVV). These cards are often created for one-off or short-term transactions, such as online purchases, hotel or flight bookings.

How to use the card
The card containing the funds for the booking will be issued by the platform you are advertising on (e.g. Booking). You then transfer the funds from this card to your account by creating a payment via our Client Portal (Payments → Accommodation Portals tab). You select the account you have with Comgate as the target account and simply pay with the card via the payment gateway (if you have more than one account with us, select them by the identifier in the Bank account field). We will then transfer the funds to your account the next business day.
You can entrust the payment with this card to anyone in your team that you assign access to the Client Portal (e.g. your accountant). You will also avoid the time-consuming process of entering individual card details into the terminal (as was previously the case) and the need to have a physical terminal on your person.
