Payment Expiration

By setting the payment expiration, you set the amount of time for the customer to complete the payment. The payment expiration time can be set between 30 minutes and 7 days. A shorter period is particularly suitable for sales of services or goods where there is limited availability or stock and a reservation of the service/good for a specific customer is made before payment. In case of incomplete payment, with a shorter expiry time, you can release the reservation earlier and offer the service/goods to another customer. Conversely, a longer payment expiry time gives the customer more room to successfully complete the payment.

Dynamic payment expiration

For dynamic expiration, the limit is set differently for various payment methods and adapts to customer behaviour during the payment process. Information about incomplete payment is thus transmitted to the e-shop earlier. Even if you turn on dynamic payment expiration, the maximum length remains limited to the value you set between 30 minutes and 7 days.

Settings

You can set up payment expiration in the Client Portal or via the API protocol.

Client Portal

You can make settings for individual stores in the Client Portal in Integrations > Store Settings > Payment Methods, where you can choose from 7 days (default setting), 3 days, 1 day, 3 hours or 30 minutes.

API protocol

Using the parameters in the API you can make settings for a specific payment. The resulting length must be between 30 minutes and 7 days. If not filled in, the value in the trade settings in the Client Portal is used.
