    Article summary

Terminals offer the ability to print a receipt regardless of whether the terminal is connected to the POS system.

    Activating the function

Terminals are supplied with the receipt printing function enabled as standard for both the merchant and the customer. If you wish to change the setting (see below), please contact our customer support.

Most terminals will install the new feature automatically within 30 minutes of being activated by customer support. If this does not happen, please download the new terminal configuration manually by following the procedure here.

    Types of receipt

The terminal can be set to print one of the following options:

    • merchant-only receipt printing

    • customer-only receipt printing

    • merchant and customer receipt printing

It is also possible to turn off receipt printing completely.

    Printing the receipt

    Procedure

    1. Make the payment on the terminal.

    2. After the payment is completed, the terminal continues to print the receipt automatically:

      • In the case of printing a receipt for the merchant only, the terminal prints the receipt automatically.

      • In the case of printing a receipt for the customer only, the terminal offers the option to print the receipt, the merchant has to confirm or reject the print (see picture below).

      • In the case of printing a receipt for both the merchant and the customer, the terminal first prints the receipt for the merchant automatically and then offers the option to print the receipt for the customer. The merchant must confirm or reject the printing of the receipt for the customer (see image below).

If you have the tip function enabled on the terminal, the amount of the tip (if entered) will also be printed on both receipts.

    Additional receipt printing

If you want to print an additional copy of a receipt for an existing payment, you can do so in Transaction History.

Payments in the Transaction History are only available until the total is made at the terminal. After the transaction is completed, the payments are deleted from the terminal's memory and it is not possible to trace them on the terminal, reprint a receipt or cancel them. The total is done automatically every Monday between 2.00 and 4.00 a.m. or you can do it manually at any time. For terminals connected to the POS system, the total is controlled according to the settings in the POS system (more about total).

    Procedure

    1. In Switchio Pay, go to the Dashboard.

    2. Click on the Transaction History icon.

    3. In the Payments tab, select a specific payment.

    4. Click on the Print Receipt button.

      • If you have enabled receipt printing for both the customer and the merchant, select which receipt you want to print.
