What is Comgate POS

Comgate POS is a payment terminal application that can be installed on your mobile phone. You can then accept contactless payments on it just like on a physical terminal.

What payments can be accepted

Comgate POS only allows contactless payments.

These include:

  • contactless payment cards (issued by VISA, Mastercard)

  • Apple Pay

  • Google Pay

  • devices with NFC chips (e.g. smartwatches, payment rings that allow contactless payments)

Comgate POS does not accept chip cards or magnetic stripe cards.

Technical requirements

For Comgate POS to work, your phone needs to meet the following parameters:

  • Android 11 operating system and higher

  • access to the Google Play store

  • NFC

  • internet connection via Wi-Fi or data SIM

The application is not available for iPhone and iOS.

Available languages

The application is available in the Czech language.

Installing Comgate POS on a mobile phone

Installing Comgate POS on a mobile phone takes place via the Google Play store, just like installing regular mobile applications.

After installation, the application needs to be activated by entering the activation code sent to you by our customer support.

Downloading the application to a mobile phone

  1. Open the Google Play store on your mobile phone.

  2. Search for Comgate POS (or click here).

  3. Click the Download button.

  4. The application will be automatically installed on your mobile phone.

Activating the application

  1. Open the application on your mobile phone.

  2. In the Activation code field, enter the 9-digit code sent to you by our customer support via email.

  3. Confirm the code.

  4. After successful initialisation (approx. one minute), the application will automatically open in the payment entry window. The application is now ready to accept payments.

The authorisation code is locked after use and can no longer be used.

Controlling the application is the same as with physical terminals:

Deactivating the application

If you want to stop using the Comgate POS application, you need to contact our customer support. They will terminate the contract for using Comgate POS, and you can subsequently uninstall the application from your phone.

Mere uninstallation of the application is not sufficient for deactivation; without terminating the contract, you will continue to be charged monthly fees for the operation of the application.

FAQ

Can I use Comgate POS on multiple phones?

Yes. You can use the application on multiple devices.

To activate the application on another device, contact our customer support. They will send you a new activation code for the additional device.

The application operation fee is charged for each device with an activated application.

I am changing my phone, how do I transfer the application to a new device?

Contact customer support and request a reactivation of your activation code. Install the application on the new device and use the original activation code sent by customer support during activation. The application on the original device will be automatically deactivated and you can uninstall it from your phone.

Can Comgate POS print receipts?

No. Comgate POS does not support receipt printing or printer connection.

Does Comgate POS work with a POS system?

No. The service currently does not support integration with external POS systems or POS applications.
