Comgate offers a choice of 4 types of payment terminals:

    • CT20 Fix (fixed – connected to the mains, can be connected to a pinpad)

    • N5 Move (portable – with rechargeable battery)

    • N5 Fix (fixed – connected to the mains, can be connected to a pinpad)

The terminals differ only in hardware. The control application (Switchio Pay) is the same for both types.

You choose the type of terminal when concluding the contract. If you want to exchange the terminal for another type later, please contact our customer support (a pinpad can only be connected to the N5 Fix and CT20 Fix terminal).

It is a portable terminal equipped with a rechargeable battery. The terminal connects to the internet via Wi-Fi or a data SIM card. This terminal is designed for running payment applications directly on the device.

    Pinpad

A pinpad is a device connected to the terminal. It is used for making contactless payments with a card or an NFC-enabled device, or for entering a PIN code. Comgate pinpads can only be connected to N5 Fix and CT20 Fix terminals.

A terminal configured to work with a pinpad cannot be used independently for payments without the pinpad. If you wish to use the terminal without a pinpad, please contact our customer support team.

The pinpad interface is available in Czech only.

    Connecting the Pinpad

To connect the pinpad to the terminal, insert the pinpad cable into the port on the terminal labeled RS232. The pinpad will turn on automatically after the cable is inserted and display the Comgate logo.

If the NEXGO logo appears when turning on the terminal, please contact our customer support team.

You can check whether the pinpad is properly connected in the SwitchioPay app → Dashboard → the External Pinpad row. The status in this row must show Online.

If the status is Offline, switch to another tab in the SwitchioPay app (e.g. the Payment tab) and then return to the Dashboard, or check whether the cable is correctly plugged into the terminal.

If the status still does not change to Online after these steps, please contact our customer support team.

    Payment

Payment via pinpad works similarly to a payment on the terminal.

Enter the payment amount on the terminal and wait until the pinpad prompts you to tap the card. Tap the card near the display area, where the reader is integrated. You can remove the card after the pinpad beeps — a confirmation of a successful payment will appear on the display.
You can find more information about the payment process
    here.
